Respite Care NDIS Services in Sydney

Flexa Care provides flexible in-home and community respite care for NDIS participants and their families across Western Sydney. Respite care gives primary carers a planned break — time to rest, attend to their own needs, or simply recharge — while the participant receives quality support from an experienced Flexa Care worker. For NDIS participants, respite is funded under Core Supports — Assistance with Daily Life or Short Term Accommodation (STA). Flexa Care supports self-managed and plan-managed participants.

Types of Respite Care We Provide

In-Home Respite

A Flexa Care support worker comes to your home and provides care and supervision while the primary carer takes a break. The participant stays in their own familiar environment.

Community Respite

The participant is supported to engage in community activities, outings or programs while the carer rests. This option also builds the participant’s independence and social skills.

Overnight Respite

For situations where carers need an extended break, overnight respite can be arranged. See our Overnight Respite page for more details.

Emergency Respite

Where a carer is unexpectedly unavailable due to illness or emergency, we can arrange urgent respite support subject to worker availability. Call 0433 880 073 immediately.

Respite Care FAQ

How do I access respite care under NDIS?

Respite support must be included in your NDIS plan. If you need respite added to your plan, speak with your support coordinator or NDIS planner. If you are self-managed or plan-managed, contact Flexa Care to arrange services.

Can respite care be provided on weekends or public holidays?

Yes, subject to availability. Weekend and public holiday rates apply under NDIS pricing.

How much notice is needed to arrange respite?

We recommend at least 48–72 hours notice for planned respite. For emergency situations, call us immediately on 0433 880 073.

What is the difference between in-home respite and Short Term Accommodation?

In-home respite is provided at the participant’s home. STA involves the participant staying elsewhere temporarily. Flexa Care provides in-home and community respite.

What areas do you cover?

Western Sydney, South West Sydney and North West Sydney including Parramatta, Blacktown, Campbelltown, Liverpool, Penrith, Castle Hill, Wentworthville and surrounding suburbs.
